Aude Heurtematte’s concert organized in collaboration with the Festival des couleurs de l’orgue français at the Grand Séminaire de Montréal on October 25, was the last concert of the CIOC 2015 Festival.
The CIOC 2015 Festival was a great success: more than 3105 organ lovers participated in one of the eleven events that happened in Montréal during the month of October. The Gala Concert in tribute of Mr. Noël Spinelli, taking place on October 16, 2015 at Notre-Dame Basilica, welcomed 661 guests around our three Laureates: Frédéric Champion (France, 2008), Christian Lane (USA, 2011) and David Baskeyfield (UK, 2014).
The CIOC Organ Weekend allowed us to expand our artistic program by offering a unique and high quality organ experience in beautiful places like the Maison symphonique de Montreal and downtown churches during our famous Organ crawl. Thanks to the generosity and support of our partners, the National Bank of Canada main partner, the Royal Bank of Canada, Omer DeSerres and La Presse, just to name a few, we were able to diversify our events to expose our cultural treasures and reach out to Montrealers and international organ lovers.
Various concerts took place this weekend, notably the Rejean Poirier concert at St-John the Evangelist and Shen Yuan’s first concert in Canada (first Mainland Chinese organist to obtain her Phd in Organ Performance).
We are proud to share with you the pictures of the CIOC 2015 Festival at www.ciocm.org.
A special thank you to our volunteers!
We are already working for our 2016 Festival along with the 2017 Competition which is going to be very special as we celebrate Montreal’s 375 anniversary. I would like to warmly thank you again for your tremendous work and I am looking forward to share others moments with you at the CIOC.
