First Concert This Week

*|MC:SUBJECT|*
Wow! Our Festival starts in a few days, *|FNAME|*!

And we can't wait to see Oliver Brett, organist and star of the free opening concert of the CIOC Festival on September 30th. You might remember him: he won the CIOC 2017's second prize! He'll be performing with violinists Sallynee Amawat and Émilie Brûlé and cellist Camille Paquette-Roy.

We gave him a call to talk about Montreal, and the concert: read our interview below! Don't miss him this Sunday at 2 PM at Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Secours Chapel in the Old Port.

Interview with Oliver Brett

Hi Oliver! The concert has a great program. How is it coming along?
Oliver Brett: The Bach I'm playing isn't played very often and I think shows the composer in some of his most intimate writing - this piece is a real gem. The Mendelssohn has always been a favourite of mine!
We recently previewed the Pipe Dreams documentary. We noticed the competitors all had bananas before their recitals. Is it a favorite snack of yours, too?
O.B. : (laughs) I love bananas pre-concert! I also love a good protein bar - they're good because they give you energy but don't make you feel too full.
What is your favourite stop in Montreal?
O. B.: I love running ... - more here
