The Société des orgues de Maisonneuve and the CIOC present an open-house day with activities to discover the organs of the Très-Saint-Nom-de-Jésus church. Guided instrument visits will be offered with access to the organ loft. There will also be a presentation of the mechanical and musical aspects of the pipe organ, including demonstrations and explanations of organ-stop families. Various examples of organ pipes (metal and wood) will be available so that participants can feel them and understand the nuances of their construction and sonic differences.
As part of this activity, the CIOC will present our Bach-Mobile on the church’s parvis, with concerts and demonstrations by Mária Budáčová, and Raphaël Ashby will offer a concert inside the church on the pipe organ.
